The European Senior Tour is a professional tour run by the PGA European Tour. The WINSTONgolf Senior Open is the only European Senior Tour tournament on German soil.
From 14 to 16 July 2016, top golfers from the most popular European tournament series came to compete for 350,000 euros in total prize money.

The tournament course
The tournament venue for the Senior Open is the multiple-award-winning, 45-hole golf complex WINSTONgolf in Vorbeck, near Schwerin, Germany. Set in an idyllic landscape of lakes, rivers and forests, the expansive complex, with its three golf courses, offers challenging play for golfers of all levels. The Senior Open will take place on the 18-hole championship course WINSTONopen.
Looking at the players’ list there’s no doubt that WINSTONgolf is a high-profile tournament.
Players included the former tournament winners Terry Price (Australia/2012), Gordon Brand, Jnr (Scotland/2013), Paul Wesselingh (England/2014), Pedro Linhart (Spain/2015) and Andrew Oldcorn (Scotland/2016).
